Job summary

Ideal Vision Integration Sdn Bhd, based in Penang, Malaysia, seeks an Application Support Engineer to support on-site AOI and machine vision systems. You will set up, test, troubleshoot and fine-tune hardware, and train customers in operation and maintenance.

You will also integrate lighting, controllers, cameras and optics, perform feasibility evaluations, and report progress daily to customers and teams. Willingness to travel locally and abroad is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or postgraduate in engineering preferred (Electrical/Electronic).
• Chinese language proficiency preferred.
• Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting on equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of machine vision, image processing, motion control is a plus.
• 1–2 years of related field experience preferred.
• Must be responsible, able to work independently with initiative and good interpersonal skills.
• Disciplined with strong time management, multi-tasking and prioritization.
• Willing to travel locally and overseas as required.

Responsibilities

• Onsite system setup and testing for AOI machine and other machine vision systems.
• Troubleshoot and provide technical assistance to customers.

Job description

Responsible for onsite system setup and testing for machine vision system such as Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) machine.

Perform troubleshooting and provide technical assistance to customers.

Responsible for minor and basic mechanical fine-tuning and adjustment in-house and on-site.

Integrate and configure machine vision related hardware such as lighting, controller, camera, lenses and optics.

Conduct customer training on system operation, basic troubleshooting, and maintenance.

Perform sample evaluation to study machine vision / motion control feasibility.

Maintain daily communication with customers to ensure tasks and action items are well follow up on-site.

Perform daily reporting through email to customers and respective teams on your daily activities.

Job Requirements

Preferably Bachelor's Degree / Post Graduate in Engineering (preferably Electrical / Electronic) or equivalent.

Chinese speaker proficiency is preferred to liaise with customers.

Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting on equipment is preferred.

Knowledge of machine vision / image processing / motion control is an added advantage.

Preferable 1-2 year(s) of working experience in the related field.

Responsible, able to work independently, initiative and good interpersonal skills.

Discipline, strong time management skill, multi-tasking with priority planning.

Willing to travel both locally and overseas as required by the job needs.
