Job summary

Sumiputeh Steel Centre Sdn Bhd is seeking an Applications Developer & Support to join our team in Malaysia. The role covers end-to-end development, implementation, integration, maintenance, and support of enterprise applications, automation solutions, and AI-powered systems across web and mobile platforms.

You will collaborate with business users to analyze requirements, develop ERP-enabled solutions, automate processes, implement AI-driven workflows, and ensure system security and performance.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science or related field is required.
• Experience in enterprise application development and integration.
• Familiarity with Power Platform and ERP systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise applications and mobile solutions.
• Build RESTful APIs, integrations, and middleware services.
• Develop BI reports and dashboards using Power BI and data analytics.
• Implement AI/LLM-based automation and AI-assisted workflows.
• Ensure SDLC processes, security, and code quality are followed.

The Application Developer & Support is responsible for the end-to-end development, implementation, integration, maintenance, and support of enterprise applications, digital platforms, automation solutions, and AI-powered systems. The role combines software development, application support, business process automation, data analytics, and emerging AI technologies to enhance operational efficiency and business performance.

The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders to analyze requirements, develop web and mobile applications, support ERP systems, implement automation initiatives, and leverage AI/LLM technologies to drive digital transformation.

Responsibilities

Application Development

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise applications, web applications, and mobile solutions.
• Translate business requirements into scalable and secure technical solutions.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs, system integrations, and middleware services.
• Develop responsive and user-friendly applications across multiple platforms.
• Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Maintain technical documentation, system architecture, and development standards.

Power Platform & Automation Solutions

• Design and develop business solutions using Microsoft Power Apps.
• Develop automated workflows and process integrations using Power Automate.
• Integrate Power Platform solutions with ERP systems, databases, Microsoft 365, and third-party applications.
• Drive process improvement initiatives through automation and low-code technologies.
• Identify opportunities to reduce manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
• Develop and implement AI-powered business solutions utilizing Large Language Models (LLM) and AI Agents.
• Evaluate and integrate AI technologies into business applications and workflows.
• Develop AI-assisted automation, document processing, chatbot, and decision-support solutions.
• Collaborate with business users to identify AI use cases and implementation opportunities.
• Monitor AI solution performance and continuously optimize effectiveness.

Database & System Integration

• Design, develop, and optimize database structures and queries.
• Manage and support databases including:

• Develop data integration solutions between multiple applications and platforms.
• Ensure data integrity, performance, security, and reliability.
• Support data migration and synchronization projects.
• Support existing ERP and enterprise business applications.
• Troubleshoot application issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with vendors and partners to resolve technical issues.
• Configure, enhance, and customize ERP modules based on business requirements.
• Monitor system performance and recommend improvements.

Business Intelligence & Analytics

• Develop reports, dashboards, and business analytics solutions using Power BI.
• Design and maintain KPI dashboards and management reporting systems.
• Analyze business data to identify trends, insights, and improvement opportunities.
• Support data governance and reporting accuracy initiatives.
• Deliver actionable analytics to support management decision-making.
• Investigate and resolve application incidents, user issues, and system defects.
• Maintain application availability and performance.
• Manage support tickets and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLA).
• Perform application monitoring, preventive maintenance, and issue resolution.

Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

• Participate in all phases of the SDLC:

• Prepare technical specifications, test cases, and release documentation.

• Support audit requirements and maintain proper system documentation.
• Monitor application vulnerabilities and implement remediation actions.
