Job description

The APAC Security Officer is responsible for implementing and maintaining Emerson Test and Measurement BU physical security programs across Asia‑Pacific sites. This role ensures compliance with global security standards, local regulations, and supports business continuity by managing access control, surveillance systems, incident response, and vendor performance. The officer collaborates with Facilities, EHS, HR, Legal, and IT teams to safeguard people, assets, and information.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement security strategies aligned with Emerson global security policies and local regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure regular review and continuous improvement of security plans.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to integrate security into business continuity planning.
  • Deliver expert functional and technical guidance across all aspects of security management.
  • Establish and enforce security audit standards, conduct periodic audits, and recommend actionable improvements.
  • Maintain and enhance security policies, procedures, and practices to safeguard personnel, assets, information, and operational continuity.
  • Coordinate risk and crisis management processes, ensuring proactive assessment, planning, and mitigation of potential threats.
  • Lead incident response for security breaches, workplace threats, and emergencies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with international security standards.
  • Lead and mentor a team of security professionals, fostering a culture of vigilance and resilience.
  • Deliver security and crisis preparedness training for employees and contractors.
  • Maintain training records and ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualification in Law, Security Management, Engineering or any relevant field of study.
  • 10+ years of experience in corporate physical security, preferably across multi‑site APAC operations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of security management principles and operational security practices.
  • Proven ability to identify and address key security risks to support strategic business objectives.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic planning, prioritization, and implementing effective security structures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to influence stakeholders across cultures and regions.
  • Passion for driving positive changes and fostering a culture of safety and resilience.
  • Serve in local enforcement unit is an added advantage.
