Job summary

Remote is seeking a Manager, Payroll Operations in APAC to lead the Payroll team, ensure on-time accurate payroll processing across regions, and maintain compliance with country-specific regulations. You will mentor the payroll team, collaborate with internal and external partners, and stay current with international payroll laws while thriving in our async, globally distributed environment.

This role offers exposure to a dynamic global HR platform and the chance to shape compensation practices

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in regional/global payroll operations (Australia/NZ).
• Understanding of global payroll best practices.
• Experience implementing payroll in multiple countries and managing relationships with payroll services.
• Proven people-management experience; avoids micromanagement.
• Proficient in SAP and Excel/Google Sheets.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving.
• Adaptable to fast-paced, international environment; aims to impact.
• Productivity-focused and asynchronous work.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the Payroll Operations team.
• Own complete payroll function; ensure on-time, accurate, compliant processing.
• Serve as a point of contact between internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead payroll team; unblock and support.
• Stay up to date with international payroll laws/regulations.
• Ensure compliance with corporate and country-specific regulations.
• Manage relationships with payroll, accounting and payroll service providers.
• Develop and implement KPIs and SLAs for the team.
