Job summary

Pahang Pharmacy Sdn Bhd, a long-established pharmaceutical company in Malaysia, seeks a Research and Development Executive to drive method development, validation, and improvement for finished products.

You will train staff, support the Validation Team, transfer methods to QC, and ensure compliance with regulatory monographs. This role demands analytical expertise, HPLC knowledge, and the ability to work under pressure to meet KPI targets.

Qualifications

• Minimum degree in a science-related field (Applied Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry or Pharmaceutical Chemistry).
• Depth knowledge of analytical techniques and HPLC principles.
• Ability to handle analytical instruments and operate laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead method development, validation, or improvement programs for finished products per regulatory requirements.
• Review and establish test procedures, specifications, and COA for finished products and starting materials.
• Train and qualify R&D chemists and lab technicians on analytical methods.
• Support Validation Team in process validation and qualification/validation activities.
• Troubleshoot laboratory equipment issues and propose improvements.
• Aim to achieve the R&D department KPI.
• Execute method transfer from R&D to QC.
• Handle analytical procedures for all dosage forms (solids, liquids, semi-solids).
• Maintain good relations with staff and heads of department.

Job description

Establishing, managing, planning, scheduling and executing analytical method development, analytical method validation or improvement programs for finished products following regulatory requirements.

Responsible to review and establish finished product and starting material test procedures, specification and COA in accordance with latest official monographs/pharmacopeia.

Responsible to train and qualify R&D chemist and lab technician on development or improved analytical methods for existing starting and finished products.

Direct assistance to the Validation Team in process validation, cleaning and other qualification or validation, in which laboratory testing support is required.

To participate in the troubleshooting laboratory equipment failure and provide proposals for improvements.

To work towards achieving the R&D department KPI.

Responsible for executing method transfer from R&D to QC

Able to handle analytical procedures pertaining to all dosage forms (solids, liquids, semi solids etc).

Maintain good relation with all staff and all Head of Department.

Requirements

Min Degree in Applied Chemistry/Chemistry/Biochemistry/Pharmaceutical Chemistry or other science related.

At least 2 years experience in related field.

Disciplined, self-motivated, proactive & result oriented with strong desire to succeed and ability to work under pressure and independently

Depth knowledge of analytical techniques, HPLC principles, analytical instrument handling.
