Job summary

CH Robinson is seeking an Air Gateway Agent / Senior Air Gateway Agent in Malaysia to manage air export consolidations, documentation, and vendor coordination. The role emphasizes accuracy, timely processing, and driving operational excellence across shipments.

The candidate should bring 1 year of Global Forwarding experience, strong MS Office skills, and the ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Understand the air export operational processes, documentation, and terminology involved in international shipping.
• Attend to airfreight RFQ and internal rates enquiries.
• Prepare, process and assemble all required documentation for air shipments, including capacity/consolidation planning and engage with vendors (airlines/GSAs/truckers).
• Ensure documentation is accurately processed, distributed and released to the carrier, customers and agents in a timely manner.
• Apply industry knowledge and critical thinking to adapt processes and to create solutions in response to challenges both internally and externally.
• Execute and coordinate tasks to execute the consolidations to meet all SOP requirements.
• Create, maintain, and update shipments and costing allocation in forwarding management system and ensuring accurate, complete and timely data capture.
• Coordinate and problem-solve on complex consolidations.
• Coach and train others.
• Ensure a high-level of data integrity within the executed shipments.
• Communicate clearly, timely, and effectively with CHR offices, Agents, and Outside Vendors to ensure efficiency and effective problem resolution.
• Provide reporting and documentation support to internal and external stakeholders.
• Promote a positive working relationship with all team members.
• Act as a resource and expert to the department, branch, and network on consolidation requirements & process initiatives.
• Monitor consolidation trends and its impact to our processes and operations.

Job description

The Air Gateway Agent / Senior Air Gateway Agent is responsible for executing all size or types of consolidations. They are a role model of knowledge, experience, hard work ethic, supporter of business goals and objectives with excellent customer service skills and professionalism. The Air Gateway Agent / Senior Air Gateway Agent is a subject matter expert and ensures all requests & requirements are met and answered accurately and timely. They are accountable for their individually assigned consolidations in addition to daily communication, reporting, and email management.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities of this position consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

Maintain Operational Excellence:

Understand the air export operational processes, documentation, and terminology involved in international shipping from time of purchase order issuance through the delivery of the cargo

Attend to airfreight RFQ and internal rates enquiries

Initiate, prepare, process and assemble all required documentation for air shipments, including capacity/consolidation planning and engage with vendors (airlines/GSAs/truckers).

Ensure documentation is accurately processed, distributed and released to the carrier, customers and agents in a timely manner

Apply industry knowledge and critical thinking to adapt processes and to create solutions in response to challenges both internally and externally

Execute and coordinate tasks to execute the consolidations to meet all SOP requirements

Create, maintain, and update shipments and costing allocation in forwarding management system and ensuring accurate, complete and timely data capture

Provide reporting and documentation support to internal and external stakeholders.

Promote a positive working relationship with all team members

Act as a resource and expert to the department, branch, and network on consolidation requirements & process initiatives

Monitor consolidation trends and its impact to our processes and operations

Other Activities:

Ensure operational SOPs are maintained and adhered to

Make recommendations to improve or implement technology solutions to recognize efficiencies and improve net revenue

Other duties or responsibilities as assigned according to the team and/or country specific requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

Minimum 1 year of Global Forwarding industry experience

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of programs

Preferred:

3-5 years of Gateway or shipment consolidations experience

Knowledge or coursework in Supply Chain, Logistics, or International Business

Strong prioritization, multi-tasking skills, and high level of flexibility as priorities and needs change daily
