Job summary

Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd (F&N) seeks a Senior AI Leader to own the AI/analytics roadmap and oversee enterprise data science initiatives. You will partner with finance, supply chain, and commercial leaders to translate needs into scalable AI solutions.

The role requires a strong track record building and leading data science teams, implementing MLOps, and delivering measurable business value in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a quantitative field (Data Science, CS, Math, AI) or related.
• 10+ years in AI/data science/solution architecture with hands-on model deployment.
• 5+ years leading data science/engineering teams.

What will you be doing?

• Own and execute the AI, analytics and automation roadmap, aligning investments and use cases with business priorities, feasibility, risk and measurable value.
• Partner with business and technology leaders to translate operational needs into scalable solutions across finance, commercial, supply chain, manufacturing and workforce productivity.
• Lead the AI team and build technical capability through coaching, design reviews, constructive challenge and clear engineering and modelling standards.
• Provide expert guidance on problem framing, data preparation, feature engineering, algorithm and model selection, experimental design, validation, explainability and performance trade-offs.
• Design and review architectures for machine learning, forecasting, optimisation, generative AI, retrieval-augmented generation and agentic AI, selecting approaches based on accuracy, latency, scalability, maintainability, risk and cost.
• Lead solutions from proof of concept to production, covering data pipelines, APIs, MLOps/LLMOps, versioning, CI/CD, observability, retraining, rollback, security and enterprise integration.
• Establish robust evaluation and monitoring practices, including baselines, error analysis, bias and drift testing, business acceptance criteria and post-deployment performance tracking.
• Apply F&N's AI governance, privacy, cybersecurity and responsible AI requirements, ensuring solutions are documented, auditable and production-ready.
• Manage senior stakeholders, vendors and delivery partners; communicate priorities, design decisions, risks, investment needs and realised benefits clearly.

What you bring?

• Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering or a related quantitative discipline; a relevant Master's is preferred.
• At least 10 years of relevant AI, data science, analytics or solution architecture experience, including significant hands-on experience building and deploying AI/ML models.
• At least 5 years of proven leadership, leading a team of data scientists and engineers to design, deliver and maintain robust AI solutions for the company.
• Proven leadership of data scientists, AI engineers or multidisciplinary delivery teams, with the technical depth to independently critique designs and improve modelling decisions.
• Strong grounding in statistics, machine learning, model evaluation and optimisation, with practical Python and SQL capability and experience in modern data science frameworks.
• Experience designing production AI/ML architectures and operating models, including cloud deployment and MLOps/LLMOps.
• Experience with the Microsoft ecosystem, particularly Azure AI Foundry/Azure Machine Learning, Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Fabric and Power BI. Strong GCP or AWS experience is acceptable where Microsoft-stack capability is demonstrated.
• Commercial judgement and the ability to communicate complex technical decisions to executive, business and technical audiences.
• Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, supply chain, commercial or finance environments is advantageous.
