Job summary

AdoreSys is seeking a hands-on Hardware Board Design Lead to architect and bring up next-generation AI/HPC server motherboards. You will own designs end to end, from system definition through manufacturing, including CPU, GPU, and AI accelerator integration with PCIe, DDR5, and other high-speed interfaces.

You will guide layout choices, validate with lab equipment, and collaborate closely with ASIC/SoC teams and ODM/OEM partners to ensure production-grade boards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering or related field.
• 5–10+ years designing server, accelerator, or HPC boards from schematic through bring-up and validation.
• Proven track record on CPU, GPU, or AI accelerator platforms with placement, stack-up, and layer-count tradeoffs.
• Hands-on experience with high-speed interfaces listed above.
• Working knowledge of PI, SI, and thermal to inform board-design decisions.
• Strong lab bring-up and debug skills with PCB/PCBA, ODM, and OEM partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of server motherboards, accelerator cards, mezzanine cards, base boards, and evaluation platforms from architecture to production.
• Translate system requirements into board architecture, component selection, placement, and validation needs.
• Partner with ASIC/SoC team during early product definition to evaluate options and tradeoffs.
• Drive component placement, PCB stack-up, layer-count optimization balancing performance, power, thermal, reliability, manufacturability, and cost.
• Design and integrate high-speed interfaces including PCIe Gen5/Gen6, CXL, high-speed Ethernet/SerDes, DDR5, I2C, SPI, UART, and JTAG.
• Define system connectivity and PCIe topology across CPUs, GPUs/accelerators, switches, retimers, NICs, and peripherals.
• Incorporate power delivery, sequencing, budgeting, and thermal requirements into architecture decisions.
• Collaborate with SI, PI, thermal, PCB, mechanical, and system teams to review analysis and resolve design issues.
• Define validation plans, bring-up, debugging, characterization, and system-level validation with lab equipment.
• Collaborate with ODM/OEM and manufacturing partners through prototype builds and production ramp.
• Maintain complete PCBA documentation: schematics, BOM, PCB specs, assembly requirements, and manufacturing processes.
