Job summary

COMPOSITES TECHNOLOGY RESEARCH MALAYSIA SDN BHD is seeking an engineer to support manufacturing of aerospace composite products in Malacca. You will resolve production issues related to lay-up, bonding, curing, machining, painting, and mechanical assembly.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering with aerospace/ mechanical focus and at least 2 years in manufacturing, plus knowledge of MS Office, MS Project and CAD tools such as CATIA/AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline mainly on Aeronautical/ Mechanical/ Manufacturing; or any related technical field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with basic knowledge on aerospace, production and technical specifications.
• Additional knowledge on Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Minitab Design Software (e.g. CATIA, AutoCAD etc.)

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to resolve production issues related to composite lay-up, bonding, curing, machining, painting, and mechanical assembly.
• Monitor process performance and take corrective/preventive actions to maintain quality and delivery.
• Ensure First Pass Yield (FPY) of processes on product related to meet department’s target.
• Ensure high/great accuracy of direct and indirect material’s usage used in production compared to Bill of Materials (BOM) generated by Manufacturing Engineer (ME).
• Analyze trend or chronology of issues, based on data collected/provided by quality personnel, in narrowing down the root cause finding process.
• Lead or be actively involved in Continuous Improvement (CI) activities to reduce the cost of final products through optimizing manufacturing flow, processes, headcount, materials and equipment efficiency.
• Develop, review, and update manufacturing process documents (Work Instructions, SOPs, Process Flow).
