Job summary

Global Blue by Shift4 is seeking an Accountant to support day-to-day financial operations across APAC, focusing on accounts payable, cash management, and month-end close. The role reports to the AP Manager within a global organization and offers exposure to regional finance operations.

You will work in a hybrid model, coordinating with auditors and external partners, with a focus on process improvements and strong financial controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field.
• 2–3 years of accounting, AP, treasury or shared services experience.
• Strong English communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day financial operations across APAC with internal and external partners.
• Handle Accounts Payable, expense management, intercompany activities and vendor data.
• Assist treasury, cash management, reconciliations and bank processes.

What you will do. A glimpse into your role:

As an Accountant within our Cash & Credit Management team, you'll be responsible for supporting day-to-day financial operations across the APAC region. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, you'll help ensure accurate processing, strong financial controls, effective cash management, and timely reporting.

This role reports directly to the AP Manager and offers excellent exposure to regional finance operations within a global organization.

What You'll Be Doing

Accounts Payable & Expense Management

• Process supplier invoices, employee expense claims, and intercompany transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Coordinate approval workflows and ensure timely payment execution.
• Maintain vendor master data and support supplier account management activities.
• Resolve Travel & Expense (T&E) enquiries while ensuring adherence to company policies.
• Support daily Accounts Payable activities and contribute to process improvements.

Treasury & Cash Management

• Manage daily cash operations and monitor cash positions.
• Support weekly cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning.
• Process banking transactions and maintain banking records.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies where required.

Financial Controls, Compliance & Tax

• Support Malaysia e-Invoicing submissions through the LHDN portal.
• Manage intercompany billing and settlement processes.
• Prepare and maintain SOX compliance documentation and control evidence.
• Liaise with auditors, bankers, and external service providers to support compliance requirements.

Month-End Closing & Reporting

• Execute month-end close activities, including journal postings, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Assist with financial reporting and balance sheet reviews.
• Support year-end audit preparation and coordinate audit requests.

Business Partnering & Continuous Improvement

• Act as a key point of contact for finance-related enquiries.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Finance, Operations, IT, Processing, and Sales.
• Contribute to process optimization, automation initiatives, and continuous improvement projects.
• Support ad hoc finance projects and business initiatives as required.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Accounting, Accounts Payable, Treasury, Cash Management, or Shared Services Finance.
• Previous experience within a Multinational Corporation (MNC) or Shared Services Centre (SSC) environment.
• Solid understanding of reconciliations, month-end close activities, and financial processes.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent English communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• ACCA, CPA, MIA, or equivalent professional qualification (completed or in progress).
• Experience within a Big Four accounting firm or external audit environment.
• Knowledge of SOX controls and compliance frameworks.
• Exposure to Malaysian e-Invoicing requirements.
• Japanese language proficiency is an added advantage.
