Job summary

City University Malaysia is seeking an Executive, Accounts (Retail & Café Operations) to manage daily accounting for its café and retail outlets in Malaysia. You will ensure accurate recording of sales, expenses, collections and outlet transactions, and support month-end closings.

The role requires a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance and 2–3 years of hands-on experience with general ledger, AP/AR, and POS systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of accounting or finance experience with full set of accounts.
• Experience in café/retail/F&B accounting would be a plus.
• Practical experience in daily sales reconciliation, POS transactions, cash & payment reconciliation, and outlet reporting.
• Knowledge of general ledger, AP/AR, bank reconciliations, and financial statement prep.
• Experience using accounting systems preferred (e.g., SQL, SAP, POS).
• Familiarity with inventory accounting, stock movements, and Malaysian SST requirements.
• Good numerical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and meet reporting deadlines.
• Strong communication and coordination with operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Handle daily accounting transactions for café and retail operations, ensuring accurate and timely recording.
• Reconcile daily sales reports against POS systems, cash collections, card transactions, and e-wallet payments.
• Monitor sales revenue, outlet expenses, refunds, discounts, and other operational transactions.
• Perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies in sales and payments.
• Process supplier invoices, payment requests, accounts payable, and outlet expenses.
• Monitor inventory records, stock movements, purchases, and cost-related transactions with outlet teams.
• Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly sales summaries and financial reports.
• Maintain documentation for invoices, receipts, petty cash, and other financial records.
• Support month-end closing, reconciliations, and audits; ensure SST compliance where applicable.
