Job summary

GPL Group of Companies is seeking a qualified Accountant to manage full-set accounts and deliver monthly financial and management reports from Kuchai Lama or Solaris Mont Kiara. You will contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls while working in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 4 years of accounting experience, proficiency in Excel and accounting software, and fluency in English and Mandarin to liaise with clients and partners.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Degree in Finance/Accounting/Banking or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of working experience with reporting knowledge; F&B accounting is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; knowledge of accounting software and QuickBooks is advantageous.
• Strong ethics, confidentiality, and ability to work under pressure with teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Handle full-set accounts and all aspects of monthly financial and management reporting, budgetary controls, forecasting, etc.
• Perform monthly system reconciliation and inter-co-reconciliation.
• Ensure journal entries and ledgers (GL, AR, and AP) are recorded accurately and promptly.
• Record and process all business transactions using double-entry accounting.
• Maintain audit schedules monthly and ensure schedules tally with accounting records.
• Liaise with auditors, tax agents, bankers, etc. on work-related matters.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff; provide training.
• Provide supporting documentation for audits.

*This position is open for the following locations: Kuchai Lama and Solaris Mont Kiara

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Handle full-set accounts and all aspects of monthly financial and management reporting, budgetary controls, forecasting, etc.

Perform monthly system reconciliation and inter-co-reconciliation.

Ensure journal entries and account ledgers such as GL, AR, and AP are correctly recorded and prepared promptly.

Record and process all business transactions within the organization's accounting system using principles of double-entry accounting.

Maintain audit schedules monthly, ensuring all schedules are tallied with accounting records.

Liaise with the auditor, tax agent, bankers, etc. on work-related matters.

Supervising junior staff, providing training, and mentoring junior staff.

Provide supporting documentation for audits.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess a Degree in Finance/Accounting/Banking or equivalent.

Must have 4 years of working experience and reporting knowledge, F&B experience will be an added advantage. (For F&B accounts).

Required skill(s): Microsoft Excel, Word, and accounting software.

Knowledge of QuickBooks is an added advantage.

Strong analytical ability, positive thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Sharp time management skills and work independently.

Strong ethics, with the ability to manage confidential data.

Able to work under pressure with a teamwork-based approach.

Pragmatic, hands-on, flexible, and adaptable to change, continuously driven to challenge and improve.

Proficient in both written and spoken English and Mandarin, as we work with Mandarin-speaking clients.

Willing to work in Kuchai Lama or Solaris Mont Kiara.

Possess one's own transportation.
