Job summary

GPL Group of Companies is seeking an experienced accounting professional to manage a full set of accounts and monthly financial reporting. You will ensure accurate journal entries and ledgers, and supervise junior staff while coordinating audits and reconciliations.

The role requires a degree in finance or accounting and at least 7 years of experience with Malaysian accounting, tax, and statutory requirements. Mandarin and English fluency is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in finance, accounting, banking or equivalent.
• At least 7 years of working experience and reporting knowledge.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian accounting, tax and statutory requirements.
• Audit experience is encouraged.
• Proficient in English and Mandarin for client interaction.

Responsibilities

• Handle full set of accounts and monthly financial and management reporting.
• Ensure journal entries and ledgers (GL, AR, AP) are recorded accurately and promptly.
• Record business transactions using double-entry accounting.
• Supervise, train and mentor junior staff.
• Perform monthly system reconciliation and inter-company reconciliation.
• Maintain audit schedules and prepare supporting documentation for audits.
• Liaise with auditors, tax agents and bankers on work-related matters.

Job description

Handling a full set of accounts and all aspects of monthly financial and management reporting, budgetary controls, forecasting, etc.

To ensure journal entries and account ledgers such as GL, AR, and AP are correctly recorded and prepared promptly.

Record and process all business transactions within the organisation's accounting system using principles of double-entry accounting.

Supervising junior staff, providing training, and mentoring junior staff.

Perform system reconciliation and inter-co-reconciliation monthly.

Maintain audit schedules monthly. To ensure that all the schedules are tallied with accounting records.

Provide supporting documentation for audits.

Use relevant IT systems and tools effectively for data analysis.

Liaise with the auditor, tax agent, bankers, etc. on work-related matters.

REQUIREMENTS:

The candidate must possess at least a degree in finance, accounting, banking, or an equivalent.

At least 7 years of working experience and reporting knowledge are required for this position.

Good understanding of internal controls, audit processes and risk management concepts.

Strong knowledge of Malaysian accounting, tax and statutory requirements.

Those with audit experience are encouraged to apply.

Knowledge of QuickBooks is an added advantage.

Strong analytical ability, positive thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Sharp time management skills and work independently.

Proficient in both written and spoken English and Mandarin as we work with Mandarin-speaking clients.

Willing to work at Solaris Mont Kiara and possess own transportation.
