Job summary

Paragon Paper & Plywood Sdn Bhd is seeking an Accounts Executive in Malaysia to manage the full set of accounts, perform month-end/year-end closings, maintain records, and handle tax filings and compliance.

The role covers AP/AR processing, reconciliations, budgeting support, and liaison with auditors and regulators, with a focus on accuracy and timely reporting. Proficiency in Excel and Mandarin communications is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• 2–5+ years of experience handling full set of accounts.
• Solid knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
• Experience with AutoCount or similar accounting software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and documentation handling.
• Mandarin-speaking communication with clients, vendors and external parties.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with accounting standards.
• Process supplier invoices, payment vouchers, and staff claims.
• Monitor customer billings, collections, and aging reports.
• Follow up on outstanding receivables and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare and submit tax filings (GST/VAT, withholding tax, corporate tax).
• Ensure compliance with local statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in tax audits and statutory audits.
• Prepare schedules and documentation for external and internal audits.
• Liaise with auditors, tax agents, banks, and regulatory authorities.
• Generate management reports and financial analysis as required.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control exercises.
• Monitor expenses and highlight variances.
• Support internal controls and accounting policies implementation.
• Maintain proper filing of accounting documents.
• Support system implementation or improvements (ERP / accounting software).
• Perform other finance-related duties as assigned.
