Job summary

Vineyard F&B Sdn Bhd in Malaysia's Shah Alam is seeking an Accounts Executive (GL & AR) to join our finance team. You will manage the general ledger, post journals, and ensure timely monthly and year-end closings for The Barn and Arthur's Storehouse, while reconciling AR ledgers and customer accounts.

The role requires a Diploma/Degree in Accounting and at least 3 years of GL and AR experience, proficiency in Excel, and ideally AutoCount.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• At least 3 years of GL and AR exposure.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; AutoCount experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage the general ledger and support monthly/year-end closing and reporting.
• Prepare and post journals for accruals, prepayments, reclassifications and intercompany entries.
• Prepare balance sheet schedules and monthly reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and explain variances.
• Reconcile inventory movements and investigate discrepancies with Operations.
• Record daily sales and receipts for The Barn and Arthur's Storehouse accurately.
• Reconcile POS sales with payments and bank settlements.
• Prepare and issue customer invoices; maintain AR sub-ledger balances.

Accounts Executive (GL & AR)

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the general ledger and support timely monthly and year-end closing and management reporting.
• Prepare and post journals for accruals, prepayments, reclassifications, adjustments and intercompany transactions.
• Prepare balance sheet schedules, perform monthly reconciliations and resolve outstanding items.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and explain significant variances against prior periods or budget.
• Reconcile inventory and stock movements, investigate discrepancies and coordinate adjustments with Operations.
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of daily sales and receipts for The Barn and Arthur's Storehouse.
• Reconcile POS sales with cash, credit/debit card, e-wallet, delivery platform and other payment settlements and bank receipts.
• Prepare and issue customer invoices, credit notes, debit notes and receipts where applicable.
• Maintain customer accounts, allocate incoming payments and reconcile AR subledger balances to the general ledger.
• Investigate and resolve sales variances, short banking, settlement differences and unidentified receipts.

Compliance & Process Improvement

• Prepare audit and tax supporting schedules and liaise with auditors, tax agents and other external parties as required.
• Ensure proper documentation, accurate accounting records and compliance with internal controls and applicable requirements.
• Coordinate with Operations, AP and other departments to resolve accounting matters and meet reporting deadlines.
• Assist with process improvements and carry out other duties assigned by the superior.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of relevant accounting experience, with hands-on GL and AR exposure.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with AutoCount is an advantage.
• Detail-oriented, analytical, organised and able to work independently to meet deadlines.
• Experience in F&B, retail, POS sales reconciliation or multi-outlet operations is an advantage.
