Job summary

Inter Island Group Pte Ltd. is seeking an Account Officer to supervise Accounts Payable and inventory activities in our manufacturing setup. You will ensure precise financial reporting and adherence to compliance standards while supporting periodic closings and tax processes.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and about one year of relevant experience. You will work with ERP systems and accounting software, contributing to process improvements and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• 1 year of general or financial accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor Accounts Payable and inventory teams, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance.
• Manage monthly and quarterly period-end closing, including accruals and supporting schedules.
• Ensure timely corporate and statutory compliance reporting.
• Assist in Malaysian tax compliance for Corporate Tax and Withholding Tax, and liaise with external auditors.
• Prepare and post journals, reconcile balance sheets, and conduct fluctuation analyses.
• Advise operations on accounting processes and implement improvements to boost efficiency.
• Oversee recording of financial transactions in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with operations to oversee inventory accounting practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervision: Lead and mentor Account Officers focused on Accounts Payable (AP) and inventory management, ensuring excellence in financial reporting and compliance.
• Financial Closing: Manage monthly and quarterly period-end closing processes, including accrual accounting and preparation of supporting schedules.
• Compliance Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate corporate and statutory compliance reporting.
• Tax Support: Assist in Malaysian tax compliance for Corporate Tax, Withholding Tax (WHT), and collaborate with external auditors as required.
• Accounting Operations: Prepare and post accounting journals, perform balance sheet reconciliations, and conduct fluctuation analysis.
• Problem Solving: Act as a trusted advisor on accounting processes for operational departments, recommending improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Transaction Oversight: Coordinate accurate recording of financial transactions in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Inventory Management: Oversee and monitor inventory accounting practices, collaborating with operations to ensure accuracy.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• Experience: 1 years in general and/or financial accounting, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
