Job summary

Zebra Technologies Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a hands-on Accountant to manage daily general accounting activities and support month-end close, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP, SOX, IFRS and local regulations.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across geographies, handle statutory filings and coordinate with external service providers while contributing to process improvements and insights using Oracle ERP and BI tools like Power BI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance.
• ACCA/CPA qualification is an added advantage.
• 1–3 years of experience, preferably in an accounting firm and/or MNC.
• Knowledge of transfer pricing and treasury will be an added advantage.
• Experience with Oracle ERP and BI tools (Power BI, Power Query, Power Pivot).
• Mandarin language is an added advantage.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proven experience in supporting cross-functional teams and driving efficiencies.

Responsibilities

• Managing daily general accounting activities.
• Performing month-end activities and prepares financial statements including income statements, balance sheets, profit-and-loss, and other accounting statements and participates in regional financial statement reviews.
• Prepares and maintains records of general ledger accounts and all journal entries necessary for monthly close, monthly account reconciliations and investigates reconciling items.
• Maintains compliance with accounting standards and regulations (e.g., U.S. GAAP, SOX, internal controls, accounting policies and procedures, inclusive of local regulations).
• Drives US and statutory accounting GAAP compliance, conversant in IFRS and US GAAP and the impacts to statutory accounting.
• Collaborates with cross-functional internal and external stakeholders across geographies.
• Responsible for all statutory filings (annual accounts, direct and indirect tax returns, statistics, etc.), and coordinating the approach with external service providers.
• Collaborating with other departments – AR, AP, Payroll, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Internal Audit, Facilities, etc.
• Contributes to innovation ideas.
• Participates in projects and company initiatives, process improvements and ad hoc assignments.

Required Skills and Experience

• Experienced user of Oracle ERP and conversant in Microsoft Office applications with strong capability in BI tools (such as PowerBI, Power Query, Power Pivot) is added advantage.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Conversant in Mandarin language is an added advantage.
• Proven experience in supporting cross-functional teams and drive efficiencies.
• Results-oriented, analytical and has attention to details.
