Job summary

First Solar Inc. in Malaysia is seeking an entry-level Accounts Payable professional to perform regular accounting and compliance work, focusing on invoice processing and vendor interactions.

You will review discrepancies, manage AP workflow, prepare transfers and ensure timely payments, while supporting month-end close and SOX compliance. Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and have 0–2 years of experience, with strong Excel and accounting software skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy in the processing of invoices and related financial transactions.
• Daily review and resolution of invoice discrepancies and issues related to accounts payable.
• Correspond with vendors and internal business partners, responding promptly to inquiries related to payments and outstanding invoices.
• Review and follow up on Accounts Payable ageing report weekly.
• Manage the accounts payable workflow, ensuring timely approval and payment of invoices.
• Prepare and process electronic transfers, payments and check runs accurately and on schedule.
• Perform regular reconciliations of vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies.
• Assist in the month-end closing process by preparing necessary journal entries and ensuring all accounts payable activities are properly recorded.
• Ensure compliance with Corporate Accounting policies and Sarbanes-Oxley controls.

Essential Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounts payable function and collaborate with the team to implement changes.
• Undertake other tasks as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
