Job summary

First Solar Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking an Account Payable Accountant on a contract basis, based in Kulim. You will perform the company’s regular accounting and compliance work, handle daily invoice processing, and resolve discrepancies while coordinating with vendors.

You will also assist with monthly closures and ensure adherence to internal policies. The role requires a BS/BA in Finance or Accounting and professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA or CA, with 0–2 years of relevant

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Finance or Accounting required.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA and CA preferred.
• 0–2 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment or audit firm.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.
• Knowledgeable in SAP or Oracle ERP systems.
• Prefer local GAAP knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Handle daily invoice processing according to the KPI.
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues daily.
• Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries.
• Perform review of AP aging report on a weekly basis.
• Perform review of GRIR aging report on a weekly basis.
• Prepare journal entries and ensure proper general ledger coding for monthly closing.
• Perform monthly balance sheet accounts reconciliation.
• Ensure compliance with Corporate Accounting policies and SOX controls.
• Adhere to Quality, Environment, Health and Safety and Responsible Business Alliance policies and procedures.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Education/Experience

• Minimum BS/BA in Finance or Accounting.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA and CA.
• 0 - 2 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment or audit firm.
• Aptitude for learning & utilizing systems.
• Need to be hands-on.
• Ability to adapt in a changing work environment.
• Good analytical mindset.
• Preferable with local GAAP knowledge.
• Proficient on MS Word, Excel, Access, Power Point and etc.
• Knowledgeable in any major ERP systems, i.e., SAP/ Oracle.
