About the role
We are seeking a talented Accountant to join our Finance team based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. In this role, you will be responsible for managing financial accounting and reporting functions that are critical to the organisation's financial health and compliance. You will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and supporting management decision-making through timely and reliable financial information.

What you'll be doing

Recording and processing financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner

Preparing and reconciling general ledger accounts and subsidiary ledgers

Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements

Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements

Conducting account reconciliations and investigating discrepancies

Supporting the audit process by providing necessary documentation and explanations

Maintaining and organising financial records and supporting documentation

Assisting with month-end and year-end closing procedures

Preparing journal entries and posting transactions to the general ledger

Supporting the finance team with ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required

What we're looking for

A relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline (such as a diploma or degree)

Professional accounting certification or working towards a recognised qualification (ACCA, ICAEW, or equivalent)

Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping

Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting standards

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Excellent organisational and time management skills

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team

Experience in financial accounting and reporting within a similar role

Knowledge of relevant tax regulations and compliance requirements
