Job summary

Mills Recruitment is partnering with a global aluminium and zinc alloy manufacturer to hire an Accountant based at its Pasir Gudang, Johor facility in Malaysia. You will own cost accounting and financial reporting for a growing plant.

The role covers cost analysis, budgeting support, cash flow monitoring and Malaysian tax submissions, with a strong emphasis on cross-functional collaboration in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2–4 years of executive-level accounting/finance experience.
• Strong Excel skills with experience in SQL Accounting or Kingdee.
• Excellent communication with fluency in English, Mandarin and Malay.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day production cost accounting across raw materials, labour and overheads.
• Prepare cost variance analyses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
• Support the annual budget, monitor monthly departmental spend and forecast data.
• Track gross profit margin, inventory turnover and capacity utilisation.
• Monitor daily cash flow to keep production running smoothly.
• Prepare Corporate Tax, SST and customs duty submissions and update management on tax changes.

This is a chance to take ownership of cost accounting and financial reporting at a growing manufacturing plant in Johor.

About The Client

Mills Recruitment is partnering with a global aluminium and zinc alloy manufacturer to hire an Accountant based at its manufacturing facility in Pasir Gudang, Johor, Malaysia, supporting the financial operations of a plant in its growth phase.

The Role

• Handle day-to-day production cost accounting across raw materials, labour and overheads.
• Prepare cost variance analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
• Support the annual budget, monitor monthly departmental spend and compile data for forecasting.
• Track key metrics such as gross profit margin, inventory turnover and capacity utilisation.
• Monitor daily cash flow to keep production running smoothly.
• Prepare Corporate Tax, SST and customs duty submissions, and keep management updated on Malaysian tax changes.

About You

Must-haves

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 2-4 years of executive-level accounting or finance experience.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting software such as SQL Accounting or Kingdee.
• Excellent communication skills with fluency in English, Mandarin and Malay to effectively communicate with our diverse client base and stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves:

• CPA, ACCA, CIMA or MIA qualification.
• Experience in manufacturing or with an audit firm.
