Job summary

First Digital in Kuala Lumpur seeks an Accountant to join the growing accounting team. You will report to the Finance Manager and handle receivables, reconciliations, and compliance with accounting standards in a fast-paced fintech environment.

You will collaborate with the team to improve accounting processes and develop skills through learning opportunities in a dynamic company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics/Business or related field.
• Familiarity with general ledger, accounts payable, fixed assets, and inter-company recharges.
• Great interpersonal and analytical skills; attention to detail.
• Proficient in MS Office and accounting software; audit experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Draft journal entries and financial transactions.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation.
• Initiate payments and secure required approvals.
• Balance and reconcile various accounts using ledgers and systems.
• Manage general ledgers, financial statements, and data.
• Notify senior staff of accounting errors and discrepancies.
• Perform additional ad-hoc accounting tasks as needed.

Overview:

We are looking for an Accountant to join our growing accounting team. This addition to the team will report to Finance Manager and be responsible for keeping our receivables current, producing accurate and timely reconciliations of assigned accounts, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. This role is best suited for high energy, hard-working, motivated individual seeking to challenge themselves in a fast-paced, growing fintech company.

Responsibilities:

• Draft journal entries and financial transaction.

• Maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
• Manage general ledgers, financial statements, and financial data.
• Notify senior staff of accounting errors
• Perform additional ad-hoc accounting functions as required by the business.

Requirements:

• A degree in Accounting / Finance / Economics / Business or related field.
• Basic understanding of accounting and finance processes.
• Familiarity with general ledger, accounts payable, fixed assets, and inter-company recharges.
• Great interpersonal and analytical skills.
• Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel formulas/Power Query), accounting software, and databases.
• Experience in Audit and International accounting is a plus.
• Dedicated attention to detail.
• Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Desire/ability to work successfully in a mid-sized growth company environment.
