Job summary

Steel Industries (Sabah) Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced accountant to manage the full spectrum of accounts and finance functions, including monthly management accounts and budget preparation. The role involves coordinating stock counts and monitoring cash flow, with liaison to auditors and bankers to improve efficiency.

You will supervise finance staff, review internal controls, and produce ad-hoc reports as requested by Management for overall department effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for full spectrum of the accounts and finance functions and related matters.
• Preparing and finalizing monthly management accounts.
• Preparing and revising the annual budget.
• Coordinating stock counts of all inventories.
• Monitoring cash flow and trade facilities.
• Liaising with auditors, bankers, tax agent and coordinating procedures to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
• Assisting in reviewing and making recommendations to improve internal controls.
• Overseeing subordinates to ensure smooth finance department operations.
• Preparing ad-hoc reports and other tasks as requested by Management.

Job description

Ø Accountable for full spectrum of the accounts and finance functions and related matters.

Ø Preparing and finalizing monthly management accounts.

Ø Preparing and revising the annual budget.

Ø Coordinating stock counts of all inventories.

Ø Monitoring cash flow and trade facilities.

Ø Liaising with auditors, bankers, tax agent and coordinating operational procedures (Department and inter-department) to improve effectiveness and efficiency.

Ø Assisting in reviewing and making recommendation to improve and enhance the internal control system.

Ø Overall supervision to ensure the proper carrying out of tasks and responsibilities by subordinates hence the smooth running of the finance department.

Ø From time to time to prepare ad-hoc reports as well as performing other relevant tasks as requested by the Management.
