EMS Test Measurement Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an Accounts Manager to oversee daily accounting and finance operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and manage cash flow.

You will supervise the accounts team, coordinate month-end and year-end closings, and ensure compliance with tax regulations and SST requirements. The role requires 5+ years in accounting/finance and strong leadership. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in accounting/finance, professional qualifications (ACCA/CIMA/CPA), and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or related field.
• Professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent are advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting/finance experience, preferably with supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, cash flow management, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the company’s daily accounting and finance operations and ensure accurate recording of transactions.
• Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) including payments and collections.
• Review and approve supplier invoices, vouchers, receipts, and journal entries.
• Monitor cash flow, bank balances, and working capital requirements.
• Coordinate month-end and year-end closing to ensure timely reporting.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial statements.

Job description

The Accounts Manager is responsible for overseeing the company's daily accounting and finance operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective cash flow management, compliance with statutory requirements, and proper internal financial controls. The role involves managing accounts payable and receivable, budgeting, financial analysis, audit coordination, tax matters, and supervising the accounts team to support the company's business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the company's daily accounting and finance operations, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.

Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), including payment processing, customer collections, and outstanding balances.

Review and approve supplier invoices, payment vouchers, receipts, journal entries, and other accounting documents.

Monitor company cash flow, bank balances, payment schedules, and working capital requirements.

Oversee bank, supplier, and customer account reconciliations and ensure discrepancies are resolved promptly.

Prepare and review monthly management accounts, financial statements, and other financial reports.

Coordinate month-end and year-end closing to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

Prepare and monitor budgets, cash flow forecasts, and operating expenses.

Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, SST requirements, and other statutory obligations.

Coordinate with external auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, banks, and relevant authorities.

Oversee the preparation of documents for annual audits, tax submissions, and other statutory reporting requirements.

Review internal financial procedures and strengthen internal controls to minimise errors and financial risks.

Monitor company expenses, employee claims, petty cash, and payment authorisations.

Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal departments to resolve billing, payment, and financial matters.

Supervise, guide, and support accounts personnel to ensure efficient workflow and accurate documentation.

Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.

Perform other finance-related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent will be an advantage.

Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting and finance experience, preferably with supervisory or managerial responsibilities.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, cash flow management, and internal controls.

Good understanding of Malaysian tax regulations, SST, audit requirements, and statutory compliance.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.

Experience with accounting software such as SQL, AutoCount, UBS, SAP, or similar systems.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Detail-oriented, responsible, and able to work independently under tight deadlines.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and develop accounts personnel.
