Tunas Manja is seeking a Finance & Accounting Lead to manage day-to-day accounting across multiple retail outlets and support offices in Malaysia. You will oversee GL, AP, AR, cash flow, and budgeting, ensuring timely close, accurate statements, and strong internal controls.
The role requires collaboration with Operations, Merchandising, Warehouse and IT to resolve discrepancies and improve financial processes. Experience with Malaysian standards and leadership of a finance team is essential.
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank reconciliation, fixed assets, accruals and prepayments, inter-company transactions, and inventory accounting
Ensure monthly closing is completed accurately and within the agreed timeline
Review monthly management accounts, financial statements and supporting schedules
Ensure proper accounting treatment in accordance with applicable Malaysian accounting standards and Company policies.
Review unusual transactions, adjustments and journal entries.
Ensure financial records are complete, accurate and properly supported.
Oversee financial transactions relating to multiple retail outlets, warehouses and support offices
Monitor daily/weekly sales reconciliation between POS, bank, e-wallets, payment gateways and accounting records
Monitor cash collections, cash deposits and outlet cash variances
Review credit card, debit card, e-wallet and online payment settlements.
Monitor sales returns, refunds, discounts, vouchers and promotional transactions.
Ensure proper accounting and reconciliation of inventory movements.
Monitor stock adjustments, shrinkage, write-offs and inventory provisions.
Work closely with Operations, Merchandising, Warehouse and IT departments to resolve financial discrepancies.
Oversee supplier invoice processing and payment activities
Ensure invoices are properly matched against PO/GRN and approved according to Company procedures.
Monitor AP aging and supplier outstanding balances.
Ensure supplier payments are made according to agreed credit terms and approved payment schedules.
Review supplier statement reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
Monitor supplier rebates, trading terms, promotional claims and other supplier-related income.
Ensure proper documentation and authorization before payment processing.
Identify and prevent duplicate, incorrect or unauthorized payments.
Oversee customer receivables, including corporate customers, tenants, B2B customers and other credit accounts
Monitor AR aging and collection performance.
Follow up with relevant departments on overdue balances.
Review customer credit limits and payment terms.
Monitor bad debts, doubtful debts and collection risks.
Ensure timely reconciliation of customer accounts.
Prepare and monitor daily/weekly/monthly cash flow positions and manage working capital requirements

Coordinate the annual budgeting process, prepare monthly rolling forecasts and financial projections, and analyse actual results against budget & forecast.

Lead, supervise and develop the Finance & Accounting team.
Allocate responsibilities and ensure proper segregation of duties.
Establish performance targets and KPIs for finance staff.
Review staff performance and provide coaching and guidance.
Improve finance processes and productivity through automation and system enhancement.
