Job summary

Monkey's Canopy Resort is seeking an Assistant Finance Manager to oversee daily accounting operations, manage outlet P&L, and drive profitability through data-driven analysis.

You will consolidate data across multiple retail outlets and e-commerce channels, and participate in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control to optimize operating costs without harming customer experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA/ACCA/CMA preferred.
• 3–5 years managerial experience in finance/accounting, with 2–3 years in Retail or FMCG and E-commerce.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel; experience with Autocount Accounting system and POS is mandatory.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations and outlet P&L.

• Prepare monthly reporting with commentary on retail KPIs.

Job description

The Assistant Finance Manager will support the financial health of our retail business by overseeing daily accounting operations, managing outlet-level P&L, and driving profitability through data-driven analysis

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and analyze monthly Outlet P&L statements, identifying variances against budgets and forecastS.

Monitor shrinkage, gross margins, and inventory write-offs at outlet levels.

Consolidate financial data across multiple retail outlets and e-commerce channels.

Prepare monthly reporting with commentary on retail KPIs

2. Budgeting & Forecasting

Participate the annual budgeting process for outlet operating expenses (rent, utilities, payroll, marketing).

3. Inventory & Cost Control

Oversee inventory accounting, including inter-outlet transfers and cycle count reconciliation.

Participate in Implementation of cost-control measures to optimize outlet operating costs without impacting customer experience.

4. Cash & Treasury Management

To prepare cash-flow rolling forecast and ensure efficiency in cashflow management.

5. Team Leadership & stakeholder management

6. To handle ad-hoc tasks whenever necessary

Retail Acumen

Analytical: Ability to turn complex data into actionable business insights for non-finance stakeholders.

Tech-Savvy: Expert in Excel and experience with Autocount accounting system and POS systems.

Commercial Mindset: Proactive in identifying revenue opportunities and cost savings.

Resilience: Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume transaction environment.

Qualifications & Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. CPA, ACCA, or CMA preferred.

Experience: 3 - 5 years of managerial experiences in finance/accounting, with at least 2–3 years specifically in Retail or FMCG and E-commercE.

Systems: Advanced Microsoft Excel; experience with Autocount Accounting system and POS system is mandatory.

Language: Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia (written and spoken); Mandarin is an advantage.
