Job summary

Thong Guan Industries Berhad is seeking an Account Executive to manage accounting activities for our Malaysia HQ and the Hatyai Branch in Thailand. The successful candidate will initially work at the Hatyai Branch to gain understanding of local processes, and will travel monthly to support the branch.

Key duties include AP/AR/GL processing, monthly closings, and liaison with the Hatyai team on finance matters. Diploma or degree in accounting is required; Thai language skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Relevant accounting experience preferred.
• Able to speak and write in Thai (Siam) language.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Detail-oriented, organized and able to work independently.
• Willing to work at the Hatyai Branch during the initial employment period.
• Willing and able to travel to Hatyai, Thailand on a monthly basis.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day accounting and financial matters for the HQ and Hatyai Branch.
• Maintain accurate accounting records, documentation and financial transactions.
• Handle AP, AR, GL and other accounting functions.
• Prepare and monitor invoices, payments, receipts and related documents.
• Perform bank and account reconciliations.
• Assist in monthly closing and management reports.
• Monitor branch financial transactions and ensure proper documentation.
• Liaise with the Hatyai Branch regarding accounting and finance matters.
• Assist with audit, tax and other statutory requirements when required.
• Travel to Hatyai, Thailand approximately once a month to support branch accounting.

Job description

An Account Executive role managing accounting activities for the Headquarters in Malaysia and the Hatyai Branch in Thailand. For the initial stage, the successful candidate will be required to work at the Hatyai Branch to gain a better understanding of the branch's accounting operations and processes. The candidate must also be willing to travel to Hatyai on a monthly basis to manage and support the branch's accounting matters.

Key responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day accounting and financial matters for the HQ and Hatyai Branch
• Maintain accurate accounting records, documentation and financial transactions
• Handle Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL) and other accounting functions
• Prepare and monitor invoices, payments, receipts and related accounting documents
• Perform bank reconciliation and account reconciliation
• Assist in monthly closing and preparation of management reports
• Monitor branch financial transactions and ensure proper documentation
• Liaise with the Hatyai Branch regarding accounting and finance matters
• Assist with audit, tax and other statutory requirements when required
• Travel to Hatyai, Thailand approximately once a month or as required to support and manage branch accounting matters

About you

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Relevant accounting experience preferred
• Able to speak and write in Thai (Siam) language
• Good understanding of accounting principles and practices
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel
• Good communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
