Job summary

Private Advertiser in Malaysia's Penang region seeks a dedicated accountant to support day-to-day financial operations, including ledgers, reconcilations, and financial reporting.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accountancy and 1–2 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in Excel and accounting software is essential, with strong analytical and communication skills. You will work under minimal supervision to meet deadlines and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations, including bookkeeping, cash controls, general ledger and subsidiary ledger maintenance.
• Handle full set of accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and related accounting functions.
• Perform bank reconciliation, payment processing, asset management, billing issuance and customer collection.
• Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue payments with customers.
• Prepare and review monthly financial reports, including balance sheet, income statement, expense reports and other management reports.
• Ensure all expenses and financial transactions are properly recorded, supported by documentation and within budget.
• Identify, investigate and resolve invoicing issues, accounting discrepancies and other financial-related matters.
• Review accounting entries and supporting documents to ensure proper accounting treatment and compliance with procedures.
• Be able to understand, explain and answer accounting-related questions.

Job description

Manage daily accounting operations, including bookkeeping, cash controls, general ledger and subsidiary ledger maintenance, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately and timely recorded.

Be able to understand, explain and answer accounting-related questions, including transactions, account balances, reconciliations, financial reports and accounting treatment.

Assist in tax computation and preparation of documents for submission to LHDN / IRB.

Liaise with bankers, auditors, tax agents and other relevant external parties on accounting and financial matters.

Assist in audit, tax and statutory requirements, including preparation of schedules and supporting documents.

Maintain proper and organized accounting records and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, company policies and procedures.

Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree, Postgraduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Finance / Accountancy, or possess relevant experience.

At least 1–2 years of relevant working experience in accounting or finance.
