About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Account Executive to join T.K. Interior Design & Decoration Sdn. Bhd. in Miri, Sarawak. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in managing our financial operations and maintaining accurate accounting records. As an Account Executive, you will be responsible for the day-to-day bookkeeping functions and accounting activities that keep our business running smoothly. This role is integral to our financial management and directly supports the strategic decision-making of our management team.

What you'll be doing

• Recording and posting financial transactions in accounting software and systems
• Reconciling bank statements and identifying discrepancies in a timely manner
• Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Maintaining and organizing financial records, invoices, receipts and supporting documentation
• Preparing financial reports, statements and summaries for management review
• Managing payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements
• Knowledge of E-invoicing and Sales & Service Tax System
• Liaising with vendors, clients and internal departments regarding billing and payment inquiries
• Assisting with tax preparation and ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations
• Identifying and resolving accounting errors and discrepancies
• Supporting month-end and year-end closing procedures

What we're looking for

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Proven experience in bookkeeping or small practice accounting, ideally 3+ years
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices, including double-entry bookkeeping
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
• Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Reliable communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information professionally
• Competence in Malaysian accounting practices and familiarity with local tax regulations
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and willingness to learn new systems and processes
