Carsem's Wide Band Gap (WBG) business is one of the Group's newest and fastest-growing operations, delivering advanced assembly, packaging and test solutions for Silicon Carbide (SiC) and Gallium Nitride (GaN) power devices across automotive, AI, renewable-energy and communications end markets. The portfolio is in a high-growth phase with a strong focus on new-customer development.
As Account Director, you will own and lead the WBG sales portfolio as a strategic leadership role — combining key-account management, aggressive new-business development, pricing and market strategy, and team and senior-stakeholder ownership. You will help shape how one of the industry's fastest-growing power-semiconductor businesses goes to market.
You will act as a senior point of contact between Carsem and its WBG customers, with full accountability for the SiC / GaN sales portfolio's revenue, pipeline and growth. You bring thorough product and packaging knowledge, set the sales strategy, and oversee product and service sales.
You will build and deepen senior customer relationships to strategically place new products and drive long-term growth, and direct new-customer development to grow the pipeline. This is a fast-paced role with frequent travel, suited to someone deeply knowledgeable of the wide-bandgap / power-semiconductor domain.
Develop pricing approaches and market-growth strategies for the WBG portfolio.
Determine strategic sales targets, markets and product/service offerings, expected volume and profits.
Analyse sales and customer data to identify market trends and estimate demand; provide market feedback to senior management.
Create lead-generation plans to ensure a substantive, qualified opportunity pipeline.
Direct new-customer development to expand the WBG pipeline; foster strategic business-partner relationships.
Participate in price formulation; evaluate prospect-qualification analysis of leads; formulate ROI measures of acquisition programmes.
Present new products and services to new and existing clients; work with pre-sales teams to meet client needs.
Develop sales proposals, quotes and bid documents; plan the approach for each opportunity.
Negotiate specific terms of product/service offerings; analyse motivations and concerns of decision-makers.
Coordinate with stakeholders to finalise contract terms, commercial requirements and NDAs.
Build long-term relationships with senior stakeholders in client organisations; lead high-level post-sales support.
Lead, coach and manage the WBG sales team; own performance, targets and development.
Conduct customer review meetings; keep pace with customer roadmaps and represent Carsem at seminars, roadshows and industry events.
Degree or equivalent, with strong semiconductor sales / business-development experience
Proven semiconductor / OSAT sales leadership with a track record of quantified revenue and pipeline growth.
Deep knowledge of power semiconductors and/or wide-bandgap (SiC / GaN) technology, packaging and test.
Demonstrated success in new-customer development and design-win conversion — not just account maintenance.
Team leadership experience, plus strong pricing, negotiation and senior-stakeholder management skills.
Willingness to be based in Malaysia and travel frequently to global customers.
