Job summary

Macellent (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking an Account Assistant to join its accounting team in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. This full-time role supports daily financial operations and ensures accurate record-keeping across the organisation.

You will perform transactions, maintain ledgers, prepare reports, and assist with month-end close while upholding data confidentiality and compliance with local regulations. A strong Excel and accounting software skill base is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional qualification.
• 1-2 years of experience as an Account Assistant or in a similar role.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Solid understanding of general ledger, reconciliation and basic accounting principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Organisational and time management skills; ability to multitask.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Knowledge of Malaysian taxation and compliance is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Processing and recording financial transactions, including invoices, receipts and payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies
• Maintaining general ledger accounts and reconciling bank statements on a regular basis
• Preparing and assisting with the compilation of financial documents and reports for management and regulatory purposes
• Supporting the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment scheduling
• Assisting with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including reconciliations and adjustments
• Maintaining organised and accurate financial records and documentation in both digital and physical formats
• Supporting senior accounting staff with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting tasks as required
• Ensuring all accounting activities comply with relevant regulations and internal control procedures
