Job summary

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Keep all project and company financial records up to date.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and monitor account balances.

The Account Assistant is responsible for supporting the company’s financial and accounting operations, including maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and preparing timely financial reports. The role ensures compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements while supporting effective financial management and decision-making within the organisation.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Keep all project and company financial records up to date.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Track and document all financial activities systematically.
Prepare and maintain accounting documentation
  • Organise invoices, payment vouchers, journal entries, and general ledger.
  • Maintain supporting schedules for transactions.
  • Ensure documents are complete, accurate, and easily retrievable.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and audit requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality and proper record-keeping standards.
Assist in financial reporting
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Reconcile accounts and analyse variances.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial information to HOD.
Perform bank reconciliations and monitor account balances
  • Reconcile bank statements with internal records regularly.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Ensure accuracy of all account balances and financial reporting.
  • Prepare audit schedules and required documentation.
  • Respond to auditors’ queries effectively.
  • Facilitate smooth and timely audit processes.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and policies
  • Monitor adherence to statutory and internal financial policies.
  • Identify and report financial risks or issues to HOD.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant accounting standards and updates.
Coordinate with internal departments and external parties
  • Work with auditors, consultants, and vendors on finance matters.
  • Collaborate with other departments on budget and cost allocations.
  • Ensure smooth communication and documentation flow.
Perform other duties assigned by employer or HOD
  • Take on additional tasks as required within the scope of the role.
  • Support finance and accounting operations whenever needed.
  • Contribute to process improvement and operational efficiency.
Academic Qualification
  • Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant working experience
  • Knowledge of accounting software (SQL, AutoCount, or similar)
  • Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to meet deadlines
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
