Warehouse Manager / Senior Warehouse Manager

Location: Kota Kinabalu, Sabah
Employment Type: Full-Time | On-Site

About the Role

Our client is an established logistics and warehousing organisation providing a range of logistics solutions, including third-party logistics (3PL), warehousing, e-commerce fulfilment, inventory management, packing and distribution services.

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Warehouse Manager / Senior Warehouse Manager to lead the overall warehouse operation in Kota Kinabalu.

This is a senior operational leadership position responsible for managing both modern e-commerce fulfilment operations and traditional logistics/warehouse activities. The successful candidate will lead the warehouse team, optimise operational processes, maintain high inventory accuracy and service levels, and ensure that customer requirements are fulfilled efficiently, safely and cost-effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations Management

• Lead and oversee the overall day-to-day warehouse operations, including inbound receiving, unloading, put-away, storage, picking, packing, staging, loading and outbound dispatch.
• Manage warehouse operations supporting both traditional logistics and e-commerce/fulfilment activities.
• Ensure orders and shipments are processed accurately and within agreed turnaround times and customer SLAs.
• Plan warehouse workflow, manpower, equipment and resources according to operational volume and business requirements.
• Ensure effective utilisation of warehouse space, equipment and storage capacity.
• Identify operational bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve warehouse productivity and throughput.

E-Commerce & Fulfilment Operations

• Oversee high-volume e-commerce fulfilment activities involving multiple merchants/customers and SKUs.
• Ensure efficient order processing from receiving through picking, packing, labelling, staging and final dispatch.
• Manage fluctuations in order volumes, particularly during campaign periods, festive seasons and peak sales periods.
• Establish effective processes to maintain speed and accuracy while minimising picking, packing and fulfilment errors.
• Work closely with relevant logistics and delivery partners to ensure timely movement of customer orders.

Inventory & Warehouse Control

• Maintain high standards of inventory accuracy and stock integrity.
• Oversee cycle counts, stock takes, inventory reconciliation and investigation of stock discrepancies.
• Establish appropriate storage, location control and stock movement procedures.
• Monitor damaged, missing, ageing or slow-moving inventory and ensure appropriate corrective action.
• Ensure warehouse transactions and stock movements are accurately captured within the relevant systems.

Warehouse Management System & Digitalisation

• Ensure effective utilisation of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP or related logistics systems.
• Work with relevant teams to improve warehouse processes through technology, automation and digitalisation.
• Use warehouse data to monitor productivity, inventory accuracy, order fulfilment and operational performance.
• Identify opportunities for system or process enhancements to support future business growth.

Team Leadership & Manpower Management

• Lead, manage and develop warehouse supervisors, executives, coordinators and operational personnel.
• Plan manpower deployment, shift arrangements and workload allocation based on operational requirements.
• Establish clear performance expectations and monitor individual and team productivity.
• Coach and develop team members while maintaining appropriate discipline and operational standards.
• Build a strong culture of accountability, safety, teamwork and continuous improvement.

Customer & Stakeholder Management

• Work closely with customers, merchants and internal stakeholders to understand operational requirements and service expectations.
• Ensure warehouse operations consistently meet agreed SLAs and KPIs.
• Handle operational escalations and resolve customer-related warehouse issues promptly.
• Coordinate with transportation, freight forwarding, delivery partners and other logistics stakeholders to ensure smooth end-to-end operations.

Safety, Security & Compliance

• Ensure warehouse operations comply with company SOPs, workplace safety requirements and relevant regulatory standards.
• Maintain high standards of warehouse housekeeping, security and safe material handling.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of warehouse equipment and facilities.
• Identify operational and safety risks and implement appropriate preventive and corrective measures.

Operational Excellence & Cost Management

• Establish, monitor and improve warehouse KPIs including inventory accuracy, order accuracy, productivity, turnaround time, space utilisation, damage rate and fulfilment performance.
• Monitor warehouse operating costs and identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse processes, layout, manpower utilisation and workflow.
• Develop and enhance warehouse SOPs, processes and controls.
• Support management in capacity planning and warehouse expansion or improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management or a related discipline.
• Preferably 8–10 years of progressive experience in warehouse/logistics operations, with several years in a managerial or senior leadership capacity.
• Strong preference for candidates with experience in 3PL, freight forwarding, contract logistics, distribution centres or large-scale warehousing operations.
• Experience managing e-commerce fulfilment, high-volume order processing or multi-client warehouse operations will be highly advantageous.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of inbound/outbound warehouse operations, inventory management, picking and packing, dispatch and warehouse optimisation.
• Experience with WMS, ERP or other warehouse/logistics management systems.
• Proven experience managing sizeable operational teams, including supervisors and frontline warehouse personnel.
• Strong understanding of warehouse KPIs, productivity management, inventory accuracy and operational cost control.
• Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements and manage operational change.
• Strong leadership, analytical, planning and problem-solving capabilities.
• Able to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume and hands-on logistics environment.
• Good communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Candidates currently based in Sabah or willing to relocate to Kota Kinabalu are encouraged to apply.
