Job summary

DayOne Data Center in Malaysia is seeking a Shift Manager to oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of the data centre, ensuring uptime and optimal performance of critical systems. This role requires working in shifts to provide 24/7 coverage, including weekends and holidays.

You will monitor cooling, power distribution, UPS, generators and fire suppression; perform preventive maintenance; respond to alarms; coordinate with vendors; and document all activities in the maintenance system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in data centre operations or a similar role.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain critical infrastructure systems including cooling, power distribution, UPS, generators, and fire suppression.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Respond to alarms and incidents, performing troubleshooting and repairs.
• Assist in implementing new systems and equipment.
• Utilize Building Management Systems (BMS) to monitor facility operations.
• Document incidents and maintenance activities in the maintenance system.
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers for troubleshooting and repairs.
• Support safety drills and ensure a safe working environment.
