Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a Data Center Operations Assistant to support safe and efficient day-to-day operations in a 24x7 mission-critical data center environment in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. You will assist with infrastructure monitoring, incident response, maintenance activities, and ensure compliance with SOPs/MOPs while maintaining accurate asset records and supporting small-to-large scale projects.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in IT infrastructure or related field.
• Internship in data center operations or IT support preferred.
• Basic knowledge of servers, networking and storage.
• Strong troubleshooting and time-sensitive decision making.
• Effective communication across functions and levels.
• Able to work independently and take ownership.
• Willing to support 24x7 operations, including weekends and on-call.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous documentation.
• Physically capable of handling hardware up to 50 lbs.
• Leadership potential and ability to mentor others.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and learning.

Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Monitoring: 24x7 monitoring and responding to alerts.
• Break-Fix Support: assist with maintenance across servers, networking and storage.
• Installation and Testing: support installation, configuration and testing of hardware/software.
• Troubleshooting: resolve hardware and network issues promptly.
• Preventive Maintenance: assist with routine inspections to reduce downtime.
• Operational Support: support day-to-day data center operations.
• SOP and MOP Compliance: follow procedures to ensure safe, consistent work.
• Asset and Inventory Management: maintain asset/inventory records for audits.
• Performance Monitoring: track data center metrics and support corrective actions.
• Project Support: assist with migrations, expansions and improvements.
• Team Support: assist plant supervisor and office engineer in site monitoring.
