Global Payments is seeking a Virtualization Engineer (entry to mid level) in Mexico (hybrid) to join the IT team. You will install and configure VMware ESXi hypervisors, vCenter servers, and manage virtual machines, networks, and storage.

You will implement security practices, perform upgrades, and develop automation scripts to streamline tasks. The role requires collaboration with system admins, network engineers, and security specialists, plus strong troubleshooting and communication skills in

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
• Experience with virtualization technologies and multiple operating systems.
• Knowledge of storage management, TCP/IP, and network monitoring.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; strong communication skills.
• English proficiency; willingness for on-call shifts.

We’re looking for a Virtualization Engineer (entry to mid level role) to join our ever evolving IT team in Mexico (hybrid) and help shape the future of global commerce.What you’ll ownInstalling and configuring virtualization software: Deploying and configuring VMware ESXi hypervisors, vCenter servers, and virtual machines, as well as managing virtual networking and storage resources.Managing virtual servers: Monitoring and managing virtual servers, including provisioning, configuring, and troubleshooting virtual machines to ensure optimal performance and reliability.Implementing virtualization security: Implementing security best practices for virtualized environments, such as access controls, encryption, and intrusion detection, to protect against cyber threats and ensure data confidentiality.Performing system upgrades and patches: Applying software updates, patches, and upgrades to virtualization software, operating systems, and applications to maintain system stability and security.Automation and scripting: Developing scripts and automation tools using PowerShell, Bash, or other scripting languages to streamline routine tasks, automate processes, and improve operational efficiency.Troubleshooting and problem-solving: Diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to virtualized infrastructure, network connectivity, performance bottlenecks, and system failures to minimize downtime and ensure system availability.Collaboration and communication: Collaborating with IT teams, system administrators, network engineers, and security specialists to ensure seamless integration of virtualized environments with other technologies and systems. Providing technical support and training to end users as needed. Participating in an on-call support rotation for escalations within the team as needed.May require rotating 24x7 on-call support responsibility as well as weekend support.What you’ll bring• A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
