Worldpay is seeking a Virtualization Engineer to join our global IT team. You will deploy and manage VMware ESXi hypervisors, vCenter servers, and virtual machines, while ensuring secure, reliable operations across the environment.

The role requires expertise in networking, storage, and scripting with PowerShell or Bash, plus strong problem-solving and collaboration skills. Expect on-call rotations and potential weekend support in a dynamic, multinational setting.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field; practical experience acceptable.
• Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies, networking, and storage management.
• Experience with security best practices in virtualized environments.
• Ability to write automation scripts and perform system upgrades/patches.
• Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
• Fluent English required, able to work in a global team.

Responsabilidades

• Install and configure virtualization software including ESXi, vCenter, and VMs.
• Manage virtual servers, provisioning, configuring, and troubleshooting for reliability.
• Implement virtualization security and access controls to protect data.
• Apply software updates, patches, and upgrades to infrastructure.
• Develop automation tools using PowerShell, Bash, or similar languages.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and coordinate with IT teams.
• Collaborate with system admins, network engineers, and security specialists.
• Provide end-user training and participate in on-call rotations.
• Occasionally support weekend operations as needed.

What you’ll own

• Installing and configuring virtualization software: Deploying and configuring VMware ESXi hypervisors, vCenter servers, and virtual machines, as well as managing virtual networking and storage resources.
• Managing virtual servers: Monitoring and managing virtual servers, including provisioning, configuring, and troubleshooting virtual machines to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Implementing virtualization security: Implementing security best practices for virtualized environments, such as access controls, encryption, and intrusion detection, to protect against cyber threats and ensure data confidentiality.
• Performing system upgrades and patches: Applying software updates, patches, and upgrades to virtualization software, operating systems, and applications to maintain system stability and security.
• Automation and scripting: Developing scripts and automation tools using PowerShell, Bash, or other scripting languages to streamline routine tasks, automate processes, and improve operational efficiency.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving: Diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to virtualized infrastructure, network connectivity, performance bottlenecks, and system failures to minimize downtime and ensure system availability.
• Collaboration and communication: Collaborating with IT teams, system administrators, network engineers, and security specialists to ensure seamless integration of virtualized environments with other technologies and systems.
• Providing technical support and training to end users as needed.
• Participating in an on-call support rotation for escalations within the team as needed.
• May require rotating 24x7 on‑call support responsibility as well as weekend support.

What you’ll bring

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Practical experience in the role can be used in place of formal education.
• Knowledge of multiple operating systems and related utilities and hardware.
• Knowledge of storage management, TCP/IP, network monitoring and tools and technical writing principles and practices.
• Effective analytical, problem solving, installation and maintenance skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, vendors, clients and public.
• Advanced level of English.
