AXA Partners invites an experienced Underwriting Manager LATAM to lead our protection business across the region, driving profitable growth and innovative reinsurance solutions with cross‑functional teams and external partners.

Fluent English and Spanish are required (French a plus). You will shape underwriting policies, pricing, and portfolio strategy, managing deals up to €5M GWP for Life and €2M GWP for GAP products.

Formación

• Experience in underwriting, pricing, or product design within the insurance industry.
• Deep knowledge of LATAM protection, non-life risks, and reinsurance schemes.
• Fluent in English and Spanish; French is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and manage the LATAM underwriting team, ensuring technical excellence and alignment with regional and global strategies.
• Define and evolve underwriting policies and guidelines, collaborating with product, legal, compliance, and risk teams.
• Drive portfolio growth by developing new partnerships, offers, and defending existing business in a competitive market.
• Act as the key technical point of contact for legal and compliance governance, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Support and promote deployment of protection business transformation and innovative reinsurance schemes.
• Engage regularly with internal stakeholders and external partners to align priorities and collaboration.
• Represent the business in negotiations, managing deals up to €5M GWP for Life and €2M GWP for GAP products.
• Contribute to shaping the strategic vision for the region, influencing stakeholders and cascading objectives.

Are you a seasoned insurance professional with a passion for underwriting, negotiation, and strategic transformation? Do you thrive in complex, multicultural environments? We are seeking a talented Underwriting Manager to spearhead our LATAM Protection business, driving profitable growth and innovative reinsurance solutions across a vibrant region.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead and manage the LATAM underwriting team, ensuring technical excellence and alignment with regional and global strategies.
• Define and evolve underwriting policies and guidelines, collaborating closely with product, legal, compliance, and risk teams.
• Drive portfolio growth by developing new partnerships, offers, and defending existing business in a competitive market.
• Act as the key technical point of contact for legal and compliance governance, ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements.
• Support and promote the deployment of protection business transformation and innovative reinsurance schemes.
• Engage regularly with internal stakeholders (Sales, Legal, Risk Management, Finance) and external partners (brokers, AXA entities) to align priorities and facilitate collaboration.
• Represent the business in negotiations, managing deals up to €5M GWP for Life and €2M GWP for GAP products.
• Contribute to shaping the strategic vision for the region, influencing key stakeholders and cascading objectives to the team.

What You’ll Bring

• Actuary or equivalent with over 5 years of experience in underwriting, pricing, or product design within the insurance industry.
• Deep knowledge of CPI, protection, non-life risks, and reinsurance schemes relevant to LATAM markets.
• Fluent in English and Spanish; French is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills with a solution-oriented mindset.
• Excellent collaboration and communication abilities, capable of engaging diverse stakeholders and presenting to senior management.
• Proven ability to influence change, foster innovation, and cascade strategic objectives.
• Experience in driving business transformation and deploying innovative reinsurance solutions.
• Strong negotiation skills and an entrepreneurial spirit to navigate complex market environments.
