Job summary

Stm Associates Inc is seeking a Director of Health & Safety to lead the corporate safety strategy for a publicly traded mining company. Reporting to the COO, this role bridges strategic vision with hands-on site execution to foster a proactive, zero-harm culture across underground mines in Mexico.

The ideal candidate has 12–15+ years in HSE leadership within mining, deep knowledge of underground operations and safety systems, and professional designations (CRSP, CSP, CIH).

Qualifications

• 12–15+ years of progressive HSE leadership in mining, multi-site or corporate oversight.
• Underground mining operations, processing plant safety, and safety management systems knowledge.
• Intermediate level of Spanish is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Mining Engineering, or related field; professional designations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and elevate corporate health and safety strategy across all sites.
• Provide governance, advisory support, and risk-management best practices at executive and site levels.
• Drive underground mining safety programs, critical risk management, emergency preparedness, audits, and contractor safety.
• Regular site engagement with mine leaders, including time underground to ensure visibility and coaching.
