Adient plc in Querétaro is seeking a senior automotive engineering leader to drive front-line technical leadership for trim programs. You will guide engineering teams to meet milestones, ensure cost-effective and manufacturable designs, and act as the main technical liaison with customers to close issues and guarantee performance and budget adherence.

• BSME or Industrial Engineering degree; minimum 8+ years in automotive engineering.
• Lead engineering teams to achieve on-time milestones and meet first-time quality targets.
• Strong experience in trim engineering and JIT/Cut & Sew programs.
• Expertise with engineering tools such as DFMEA, Root Cause/8D, DVP, GD&T.

Responsabilidades

• Lead engineering team to achieve ≥95% on‑time engineering releases.
• First‑time DV/PV pass rate ≥90%.
• Engineering changes reduction vs. prior programs.
• Act as primary technical interface with customer, ensuring alignment to specs and costs.

• Drive robust design culture and continuous improvement.
• Develop team capability through coaching and structured plans.

Job Summary

Provide front‑line technical leadership and customer interface for assigned program(s), ensuring delivery of high‑quality, cost‑effective, and manufacturable trim products. Lead engineering teams to achieve on‑time program milestones, first‑time quality targets, and budget adherence, while strengthening team capability and customer satisfaction. Core member of the Simultaneous Development Team (SDT) with full accountability for engineering execution, technical decisions, and program performance outcomes.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead engineering team to achieve ≥95% on‑time engineering releases.
• First‑time DV/PV pass rate ≥90%.
• Engineering changes reduction vs. prior programs.
• Act as primary technical interface with customer, ensuring timely closure of all technical issues and escalations; alignment to customer specifications, performance, and cost targets.
• Own engineering budget and resources to ensure program execution within approved budget (±5%) and optimal utilization of engineering resources.
• Drive a culture of robust design, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Develop team capability through coaching, mentoring, and structured development plans.

Preferred Skills

• Strong trim engineering background.
• Proven success in launching soft trim programs (JIT, Cut & Sew).
• Demonstrated leadership of engineering teams delivering measurable results.
• Expertise in engineering tools such as DFMEA, Root Cause/8D, DVP, GD&T, etc.
