EGOS BI seeks a Trainee Data Engineer for a full-time, hybrid role based in Monterrey, Nuevo León. You will assist in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes under senior guidance, with opportunities to learn best practices in data engineering.

You will collaborate with analytics and business teams to understand data requirements, validate data quality, and contribute to basic reporting and dashboards while growing your skills in a mentoring environment.

Role Description

This full-time Trainee Data Engineer role at EGOS BI is a hybrid position based in Monterrey, NLE, with a mix of on-site work and some work-from-home flexibility. The Trainee Data Engineer will support the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and ETL processes under the guidance of senior team members. Daily tasks include assisting with data modeling, loading and transforming data into data warehouses, validating data quality, and documenting data flows and technical processes. The role also involves collaborating with analytics and business teams to understand data requirements, preparing basic reports and dashboards, and troubleshooting data issues. The Trainee will be expected to learn and apply best practices in data engineering and contribute to continuous improvement of data infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Foundational skills in Data Engineering and the ability to support data pipeline development and maintenance.
• Understanding of Data Modeling concepts and the capacity to help design structured datasets.
• Knowledge of Extract Transform Load (ETL) practices and tools to assist in building and optimizing data flows.
• Basic experience or coursework related to Data Warehousing and organizing data for scalable storage and access.
• Initial exposure to Data Analytics, including interpreting data, creating simple reports, and supporting decision-making.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Familiarity with SQL and at least one programming language commonly used in data engineering (e.g., Python or Java).
• Attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and willingness to learn in a structured mentoring environment.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a hybrid team setting and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
