Vertiv in Mexico seeks a Mechanical Engineer to support startups, maintenance, and emergency repairs for UPS, battery systems, and power distribution equipment. You will build strong rapport with customers and colleagues and keep teams updated on progress.

Responsibilities include responding to service calls, following safety rules and codes, managing parts, and ensuring maintenance targets. A driving license and good communication skills are required; weekend and night work may be needed.

Formación

• Electrical/Electronics HNC/HND or equivalent.
• Experience in a technical service or test environment of AC Power equipment is essential.
• Computer literate (MS Office, Outlook).
• Previous field service experience is essential.
• Excellent customer service skills and strong communication.
• Self-motivated with good time management and ability to work under pressure.
• Clean valid driving license.

Responsabilidades

• Respond to all assigned service calls while on duty.

• Follow current codes of practice/legislation relevant to the task.
• Ensure spare parts are properly accounted for.
• Maintain planned maintenance completion rate (min 90%).
• Coordinate with call control to plan and complete works.
• Keep call control informed of schedule and status.
• Maintain accuracy of customer listing and report errors.
• Support company vision and management decisions.
• Follow ISO 9001:2000 processes.
• Keep company vehicle clean and maintained.
• Look after tooling and company property.
• Work as part of the service team.
• Submit daily paperwork; debrief at customer site when possible.
• Be available for weekend and night work.
• Report leads to proper department.
• Ensure compliance with Export/Import and Trade regulations.

Mechanical Engineer

Responsible for startups, maintenance, and emergency repairs for Vertiv UPS, battery, power distribution, and site monitoring equipment. Required to establish, promote and maintain excellent rapport with all customers, salesmen, distributors, and others within the area. Maintain continuous communications with Call Control and the department Manager/Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Respond, in a professional manner, to all assigned service calls while on duty.
• Perform all work in a safe manner and in accordance with established company safety policy.
• Perform all work using good working practice and current codes of practice/legislation relevant to assigned task.
• Ensure spare parts are properly accounted for using established parts procedures.
• Assist in ensuring that the planned maintenance completion rate is maintained at a min 90%.
• Assist call control to schedule, plan and complete any works as required, using established workflow procedures.
• Keep call control informed of your schedule and the status of all open jobs.
• Maintain the accuracy of the customer listing by reporting errors with the site change form.
• Support company vision and management decision.
• Ensure that all ISO 9001:2000 agreed processes are followed.
• Keep company vehicle clean and properly maintained.
• You will be expected to look after all tooling and company property issued to enable the tasks to be carried out.
• Work as part of the service team.
• Follow up and follow through with any and all assigned tasks.
• Submit daily paperwork in a timely, accurate and complete manner and in case of Wireless Field Service ensure the job is debriefed in a complete and accurate manner at the customer’s premises where possible.
• Ensure availability to work during weekend and nights.
• Report sales or service leads to the proper department via the correct process.
• The employee ensure that any activity, task and responsibility required by role in terms of Export Compliance, Import Compliance, EU Arrivals and Dispatching, as well as Supply Chain Security is managed and performed in full compliance with the Company International Trade Compliance Regulation certification program itself.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience of working in a technical service or test environment of AC Power equipment essential.
• Computer literate (All office associated programs such as word, excel, outlook).
• Previous field service experience essential.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Self-starter, ability to plan, organize and manage time effectively with an ability to work under pressure.
• Clean valid driving license.
