LyondellBasell Industries is seeking a Technology Development Engineer in San Luis Potosí, MX, to develop new products and applications and provide technical support across Advanced Polymer Solutions. The role interfaces with multiple stakeholders to drive growth, optimize assets and materials, and deliver cost-effective technology improvements.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Polymer Science, Plastics Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related engineering degree.
5+ years in a technical environment (R&D, Application Development, Plastic Processing).
3+ years in formulation development of plastic compounds targeting transportation, consumer and industrial markets.
Experience in process and troubleshooting methods in plastic injection molding.

Responsibilities

Comply with LYB requirements and safety policies.
Develop new or modified differentiated products, applications, or processes to meet market or customer objectives, lower cost, or improve performance.
Collaborate in development and/or import of global technologies to achieve commercialization and sales.
Design and manage technology development projects; deliver technical deliverables and solve customer issues.
Prepare and deliver technical presentations at meetings or conferences; engage with technical organizations.
Develop and manage product formulations and quality specifications; support scale up at internal or subcontracted sites.
Provide guidance on supplier selection and alternate raw materials.
