ZF Group is looking for a Technical Test Validation Engineer based in Mexico, Veracruz. In this role, you will support component and vehicle-level testing for commercial vehicle steering systems. Responsibilities include data acquisition, test result analysis, and collaboration with engineers in a global team.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and has over 3 years of experience in the automotive sector, along with advanced English proficiency and strong mechanical skills.

Formación

• 3+ years in machining processes within the automotive industry.
• Experience in automotive product testing and familiarity with data acquisition equipment.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 and ERP systems like SAP/QAD.

Descripción del empleo

About the team: In this position you will work as a member of ZF’s Commercial Vehicle Steering Engineering Laboratory in Quer e9taro, Qro. to support component and vehicle level testing. Specific products include Commercial Vehicle steering components (electric and hydraulic) gears, pumps and columns. The primary objective of this role is to work closely with Column product engineers in the QAO plant and remotely with engineers and technicians in Lafayette to support data acquisition, instrumentation systems and testing requirements.

What you can look forward to as Technical Test Validation Engineer:

• Support component and vehicle-level testing of commercial vehicle steering column systems (electric and hydraulic)
• Assemble, disassemble, mount, and prepare steering components and subassemblies for laboratory testing
• Set up, operate, and monitor data acquisition and instrumentation systems during lab testing
• Execute validation, quality audit, warranty, and line-return tests per engineering requirements
• Collect, analyze, document, and report test results in compliance with ZF test specifications
• Troubleshoot laboratory test equipment, electronic control systems, and DAQ instrumentation
• Collaborate closely with Column product engineers in QAO and with global teams (Lafayette)
• Maintain lab efficiency and compliance through 5S, safety, and quality/ISO standards
• Some travel will be required including initial 12-week training in Lafayette, IN. 10% domestic and 2% international

Your Profile as Technical Test Validation Engineer:

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or related field; 3+ years in machining processes within the automotive industry
• Advanced English proficiency
• Strong mechanical aptitude; experience in machining, metal fabrication, and blueprint reading (IG welding certification preferred)
• Experience in automotive product testing; familiarity with mechanical tools, sensors/gauges, and data acquisition/analysis equipment
• Problem-solving experience using methodologies such as 8D, Red-X, and Six Sigma (Green Belt preferred)
• Strong structured problem-solving skills (Shainin, Red-X)
• Proficiency in MS Windows and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Knowledge of IATF 16949, ERP systems (SAP/QAD), and tools such as Minitab and CAD software (AutoCAD/SolidWorks)
