ZF Group is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer in Querétaro, Mexico. This role involves defining robust manufacturing processes for electric steering systems, collaborating with various teams to ensure successful product launches and capacity.

The ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience in industrialization and process engineering, strong knowledge of core tools, and a solid background in lean manufacturing. This position offers growth in a dynamic team environment focusing on innovation in manufacturing processes.

Formación

• 5 years work experience with a background in industrialization and process engineering.
• Strong knowledge of core tools like FMEA and APQP.
• Experience in lean manufacturing and problem-solving methodologies.

Responsabilidades

• Support plants for launching new product manufacturing and ensure capacity information accuracy.
• Prepare customer quotes and create necessary documentation.
• Conduct risks assessment for new products and processes.

About the team

Opportunity to join a global team responsible for defining world‑class manufacturing processes for automotive electric steering systems. ZF Division CE Steering is a nearly 7€ billion division within the ZF Group. Electric Front and Rear steering systems and components are manufactured in 9 plants in countries across Europe, North America, South America, and Asia‑Pacific. In North America, all manufacturing and assembly processes for steering systems and components are consolidated in the Queretaro, MX plant. With the rapid advance of autonomous driving technology, robust, efficient, and reliable manufacturing processes are crucial to achieving cost and profitability targets in a highly competitive environment. This role involves collaboration with Global Industrial Engineering (IE) Team, product design engineering, program management, quality assurance, and production operations teams to develop and implement robust manufacturing processes for current and future generations of electric steering systems in North America – from concept through serial production.

What you can look as an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer

• Training: Support Central Global Process Lead DFM/DFA, lessons learned, workshops, improvements. Test and validate if needed the assumptions taken, Document, implement, validate.
• Support & Cooperation: Support plants for launching new products manufacturing, LLD, layouts, prototypes. Ensure plants Capacity information accurate – verify number of machines in plant are sufficient to deliver the quantity of products to the customer- PowerBi and Access. Develop - Create specifications (based on Generic AMEs) together with plants quality, maintenance, ME for new projects processes to buy new equipment and tooling. Equipment supplier selection together with Core IE, Purchasing and Plants.
• Documentation: Prepare Customer Quotes Authorization AMEs per Task Notes from Sales based on Core AMEs – quotations capital, tooling, Labour minutes, capacity, timing, launch costs. Responsible to create Application PFMEA based on Core PFMEA documentation.
• Risks assessment; New products and processes - Risks assessment, Industrialization planning.
• Process: Machines building tracking together with Plant NPI, supporting GDPEP gates revision utilizing OLM process. Technical Availability, Cycle time, Quality, and on-time delivery are key metrics. Support Critical To Quality process and change management process.
• Testing: Help ME and Plant handover, machines testing at full capacity, helping for Creating manufacturing process blueprints for specific processes instructions, flowchart.
• Integrated management system.

Your Profile as an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer

• Strong PLC experience.
• 5 years work experience with Industrialisation and Process Engineer background.
• Knowledge of Core Tools (FMEA, Control Plan, APQP, SPC).
• Knowledge of project management
• Problem Solving Methologies
• Lean Manufacturing
• Knowledge of assembly manufacturing processes (robot handling, cobots, load cells, cameras, EOLT, traceability, etc.).
