Job summary

DataArt in Monterrey, Mexico is seeking an experienced Technical Lead to drive a large-scale platform modernization. You will lead technical decisions, coordinate delivery, and work closely with the client to translate requirements into actionable tasks.

You will hands-on develop with Node.js and React, assess PHP/Yii1 legacy, design microservices, ensure code quality, and manage backlogs and dependencies in an Agile, distributed team.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Node.js and backend development.
• Strong React frontend skills.
• Solid knowledge of MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with legacy modernization or migration projects.
• Proven Technical Lead or senior engineering role with coordination responsibilities.
• Strong organizational and planning skills; ability to clarify requirements.

Responsibilities

• Drive technical decisions and contribute to the target architecture.
• Analyze the PHP/Yii 1 codebase and define migration approaches.
• Participate in hands-on development with Node.js and React.
• Design scalable backend services, APIs, and integrations.
• Provide technical guidance and resolve complex challenges.
• Ensure code quality and engineering best practices.
• Act as primary technical contact for the client; translate business needs into tasks.
• Own backlog preparation, refinement, and prioritization; coordinate progress.
• Provide regular updates and ensure stakeholder transparency.
• Facilitate planning sessions, backlog refinement, and cross-team collaboration.
