TE Connectivity is seeking an experienced Product Engineer to drive release of new products and sustain existing cables development. You will lead a small team and own the product engineering processes, ensuring design validity through tests and trials.

The role requires an academic engineering degree and several years of experience in product design and manufacturing engineering, with strong CAD and engineering software skills. English proficiency and independent work style are valued.

• Academic engineering degree or equivalent is required.
• Several years of on-the-job experience in Product Design and Manufacturing Engineering.
• Experience with testing devices and product validation.

Job Overview

The Product Engineer is responsible to release products, development new, related products or adjust existing products. The position owns the support and provision of all aspects of Product Engineering, dedicated to cable assembly new product development as sustaining engineering and leading a team of 2 to 3 product engineers.

Job Requirements

Develop new products and to adjust existing products

• Gather all relevant data, review in order to understand and determine the requirements and ensure completeness, apply this into a package of demands for the desired product
• Do feasibility studies (costs, product technically, material technically, applicability)
• Decide about the technical realization
• Choose product designs, complying with internal rules according specification and purpose
• Prepare sketches and drawings accordingly
• Draw up product specifications and bill of materials accurately
• Take responsibility for design validity and release of a design or alterations in the design
• Perform possible problem analyses, tests and trials, implement tests and trials where necessary
• Follow up and report on development progress

Other Duties And Interfaces With Internal Disciplines

• Cross discipline product related advise and assistance for resolution of production concerns related to Product Engineering issues
• Internal production concern response including deviation / concession approval
• Discuss work implementation and problems with other involved parties
• Support engineers with test and trial results and analysis, advise on packaging and possible alternatives and product specifications;
• Provide technical consultancy and advise on assigned products for internal and external parties
• Customer liaison at all levels on Product Engineering related enquiries
• Vendor liaison at all levels as required
• Dispose sample production

What Your Background Should Look Like

Educational Degree

Must have minimum an academic engineering degree or similar

Professional Experience 5 (years In What Processes And Function)

Several years on the job experience in Product Design and Manufacturing Engineering

Distinct work practice with testing devices

Fully acquainted with CAD systems and if necessary production tools

Product validation and testing specification requirements

Should have materials selection expertise

Fully acquainted with the computer and common software, including engineering software

Special Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills

Ability to work independently

The Product Engineer must possess the maturity, technical competence and natural authority to look after technical interests with minimal supervision

Demonstrated behaviours and values at or above TE standard
