TE Connectivity Corporation is seeking a capable leader to supervise prototype cable assembly operations at our onsite facility in Mexico. You will develop and standardize methods, manage equipment and calibration, and drive improvements to productivity and quality while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates bring 1–5 years of leadership in cable assembly, strong communication skills, and a background in engineering education. Travel up to 25% is noted.

Formación

  • University-level engineering education required.
  • Experience with prototype cable assembly and related tooling.
  • Familiarity with safety, quality standards and TE processes preferred.

Responsabilidades

  • Own cable assembly processes, work instructions and technical standards for prototype operations.
  • Lead and develop prototype assembly operators through training, coaching and support.
  • Manage equipment, tooling, and calibration programs; evaluate new technologies.
  • Establish quality controls and signal integrity testing to meet requirements.
  • Lead process improvement and standardization to boost productivity and quality.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, quality and regulatory requirements.

Job Overview

Provides technical and operational leadership for prototype cable assembly operations by developing, implementing, and continuously improving cable assembly processes, equipment, tooling, quality systems, and signal integrity (SI) testing capabilities. Leads prototype assembly operators and serves as the primary technical resource for the shop, ensuring prototypes are manufactured safely, efficiently, and in compliance with customer, engineering, and quality requirements.

Responsible for establishing standardized cable assembly methods, maintaining equipment and calibration programs, resolving complex cable assembly issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, quality, and operational performance.

Job Requirements
  • Own cable assembly processes, work instructions, and technical standards for prototype cable assembly operations.
  • Lead and develop prototype assembly operators through training, coaching, qualification, and ongoing technical support.
  • Manage cable assembly equipment, tooling, and calibration programs, including evaluation and implementation of new technologies and capabilities.
  • Establish and maintain quality controls, inspection methods, and signal integrity testing capabilities to ensure compliance with customer, engineering, and quality requirements.
  • Lead process improvement, standardization, and efficiency initiatives to improve productivity, quality, and operational performance.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements.
What your background should look like
  • Years of Experience: Between 1 and 5 years of leadership experience were mentioned, without specifying total years of engineering experience.
  • Core Skills / Expertise: Microsoft Office; communication; mechanical aptitude; crimping technology; problem-solving; understanding of connector assembly or connector design; signal integrity testing as preferred experience; programming or logic for automation as a desirable element.
  • Preferred Backgrounds: Previous experience in cable assembly, connector assembly, or connector design; familiarity with safety and quality standards, especially prior knowledge of TE processes.
  • Education / Certifications: University-level education in engineering
