Medtronic is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager for its Mexico operations (Tijuana Campus, Empalme and Juárez). The role drives sourcing strategies, supplier relationships, and cost optimization across multiple manufacturing sites.

Onsite in Tijuana, the candidate will lead cross-functional teams and ensure alignment with business objectives. The ideal candidate has 7+ years in strategic sourcing/procurement, strong negotiation and analytical skills, and fluency in English and Spanish.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years in Strategic Sourcing/Procurement or Supplier Management.
• Experience supporting manufacturing operations in a multinational environment.
• Proven track record in supplier negotiations and cost savings.
• Strong project and stakeholder management skills.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to lead negotiations and cross-functional meetings in English.

A Day in the Life

Lead Operations Sourcing function for Medtronic Mexico Sites (Tijuana Campus, Empalme and Juarez Sites).

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead sourcing initiatives and drive procurement excellence across our Mexico operations, including Tijuana Campus, Juárez, and Empalme.

This role will be responsible for developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, optimizing costs, mitigating supply risks, and ensuring alignment with business objectives across multiple manufacturing locations. This position is onsite based on our manufacturing site in Tijuana.

The ideal candidate is an experienced procurement professional with strong analytical and negotiation skills, a global mindset, and exceptional communication abilities in both English and Spanish.

A Day in the Life

• Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives to support manufacturing operations across multiple Mexico sites.
• Lead supplier selection, contract negotiations, and supplier performance management.
• Partner closely with Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to align sourcing strategies with business needs.
• Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities while maintaining quality, service, and compliance requirements.
• Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and category risks to develop effective sourcing strategies.
• Drive supplier development initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
• Manage supplier relationships and resolve supply continuity issues.
• Lead sourcing projects and cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
• Support new product introductions and site expansion initiatives through effective sourcing and supplier engagement.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Supply Chain, or Supplier Management.
• Experience supporting manufacturing operations in a multinational environment.
• Proven track record leading supplier negotiations and delivering cost savings.
• Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent English communication skills are required (written, verbal, and presentation).
• Ability to effectively lead negotiations, executive-level discussions, and cross-functional meetings in English.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience supporting multiple manufacturing sites.
• Medical device, automotive, aerospace, electronics, or highly regulated industry experience.
• Knowledge of strategic sourcing methodologies and category management.
• APICS, CPSM, CSCP, CIPS, or equivalent procurement/supply chain certifications.
• Experience working with SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems.
