Mercor, a leading AI data company, is seeking a Strategic Project Lead in Mexico to own high-impact projects end to end, build strong customer relationships, and lead teams responsible for delivering exceptional results.

You will supervise Strategic Project Associates and coordinate large networks of domain experts across software, medicine, law, science, and business, driving portfolios that generate significant revenue.

Formación

• 3 - 6 years of professional experience in fast-moving environments.

We are now building our team in Mexico. This is an opportunity to join Mercor at the beginning of our expansion in Mexico, contribute to how the local team takes shape, and work directly on global projects with some of the world’s most advanced AI companies.

About the Role

The world’s leading AI companies partner with Mercor to execute high-impact projects involving human expertise and data. As a Strategic Project Lead, you will own these projects end to end, build strong customer relationships, and lead the teams responsible for delivering exceptional results.

You will supervise Strategic Project Associates and coordinate large networks of domain experts. SPLs can be responsible for project portfolios generating more than $10 million in annual revenue and involving over 1,000 contributors.

This is a hands-on leadership role for ambitious professionals who enjoy solving complex problems, developing people, and turning challenging goals into results. What You’ll Do

• Lead high-impact projects for some of the world’s leading AI labs and technology companies.
• Own projects, from customer conversations through successful delivery.
• Turn complex customer needs into clear plans and help teams execute them effectively.
• Lead and develop Strategic Project Associates, helping them grow and perform at a high level.
• Coordinate large groups of domain experts across fields such as software engineering, medicine, law, science, and business.
• Build trusted relationships with customers and serve as a primary point of contact.
• Use data and structured problem-solving to understand performance, identify challenges, and improve results.
• Ensure that projects consistently meet high standards for quality, speed, and customer experience.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Machine Learning teams to develop better ways of working.
• Identify opportunities to expand successful projects and create additional value for customers.

What We’re Looking For

• 3 - 6 years of professional experience.
• Experience owning and delivering complex projects in fast-moving or demanding environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to bring structure to unfamiliar or ambiguous challenges.
• Experience managing people, leading teams, or coordinating multiple stakeholders toward a shared goal.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. You will work directly with international colleagues, customers, and experts.
• Strong analytical skills and comfort using data to understand problems and make decisions.
• Intellectual curiosity and a genuine interest in understanding how data, technology, and AI systems work.
• The ability to prioritize effectively and manage several important workstreams at the same time.
• Confidence working with customers and the judgment to communicate progress, challenges, and recommendations clearly.
• Ambition and a strong desire to learn, grow, and take on increasing responsibility.
• Excitement about contributing to AI and having a meaningful impact on one of the world’s most important and rapidly evolving industries.
• Initiative, adaptability, low ego, and openness to feedback.
• Enthusiasm for using AI tools, combined with the critical thinking needed to evaluate their output.

Experience in startups, consulting, strategy and operations, product, engineering, data, technology, entrepreneurship, Chief of Staff roles, customer-facing positions, or people management can be valuable. No single professional background is required; demonstrated ownership, leadership, learning ability, and execution matter most.

Technical or coding experience is not required, but candidates should be comfortable working with data, learning new systems, and developing an understanding of AI-enabled workflows.

Location

This role is currently remote and is intended for candidates based in Mexico City.

Mercor plans to open an office in Mexico City as the team grows. The role is expected to transition to an in-person working model once the office opens. Joining now means becoming one of the early contributors to Mercor’s presence and culture in Mexico.
